Bad Service
Reviewer: Tessie from Ventura, CA
We celebrated Kryzta's (my niece)18th birthday last Friday, March 15, 2008. There were 48 of us, mostly family members, and first time to be at the restaurant. After such a not quite good service experience, I don't expect any of the family members to go back to the place again. It was an excellent party since we it held in a private room, with a nice view. However, the service was not quite good as expected. First, they only assigned two waiters for the whole group. It was a long wait for a glass of water, or extra salad dressing, and even for the steak knife that was suppose to have been given before they served the main course. The Manager was very rude. When my husband ordered for a couple of drinks and was giving the bill payment to the him, he didn't want to accept it. Instead, he kept on asking what my husband wanted him to do. That is such an irrelevant question to pose to a customer. I recommend that the company's owner or management team will conduct or provide customer service training to the staff expecially to the Manager. I am a Director of a very public service oriented organization, and I do believe that good customer service should filter down from the Manager. If staff see that kind of attitude from the Manager, they might perceive it as an acceptable or normal behavior.

2008 Valentine's nighmare
Reviewer: Lori from CA
We made reservation for Valentines day dinner and arrived on time. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes from the time of our reservation. Reservation was at 7:00 and we did not get seated until 9:30! We ordered and dinner was served around 10:15. At the time they brought the dinner we were told the baked potatoe's were not ready yet. After we were almost finished we were told they were out of potatoes! They did offer us dessert but we were tired from being there so long and declined the offer. Believe it or not we are giving them one more try tonight for my daughter b-day. I will let you know how it goes....believer in second chances

rude manager

I went in to order several meals to go for a meeting I was having on my yacht I asked about thespecial of the night. Ribs. I asked if I could come back for more I was told no. That was fine but when I decided to order the ribs anyway the manager charged up saying he had already told me I couldn't order the ribs to go. I explained I wasn't asking for special just the ribs hes was so defensive and rude I was stunned. When I explained I wasn't asking for the special he treated me like he was doing me a favor. The foods fair not great but with that attitude who needs it.

We always enjoy it.

We have been there about 5 times over the last 2 years and we have always enjoyed it. It is our choice for Valentine's Day this year. The service has always been just right and the drinks are good and strong. We love the prime rib soup.

one of the worst experiences ever!!!

I have to say that the food was very good. Your service on the other hand, from server to management sucked. I mean that in every way shape and form. It was my birthday and out of all of the places in V.C. to eat at I chose your restaurant. BIG mistake. Our waiter was too busy to handle a large party of people by himself. My 13 yr old son ordered your all you can eat ribs and was given 2 ribs to start and ordered more right away but ended up with no food while all the other 10 or 11 people finished their plates. We were told by our waiter the price of steak and lobster was under $45 so my husband and I both ordered it and when we got our bill it was $65+ for each of us!!! I spoke to your manager who on my birthday made me cry on my way home. He was very unhappy at me as the customer for being misinformed by his staff. I would've never orderd a meal that cost almost $70. I asked for him to revise the bill according to what his waiter said to us and he stormed to the register in a hasty fashion and was very RUDE. My entire family owns their own businesses including myself and I would never treat my customers the way I was treated that night. A birthday I will never forget and a place that will recieve 0 from us again.

We went to the Scotch and Sirloin last night for my most important anniversary. My wife and I met four years ago and this was our date. I read all the feedback, but knew there was something more under the negative comments. To qualify, we eat out all the time, every day for lunch and most evenins. We arrived at 5:30 to see the sunset which was better than most will ever get on this earth. The service was great. My wife had the Serloin, I had a lobseter and petit fillet mignon. The fillet was a bit small, but it was plenty considering the GREAT lobster. The lobster was perfect - and I am very critical. The ambiance was great, our waiter very attentive. This made for a better night than I could have imagined. Even though the place was packed, we had great service all night long. They even gave us an anniversery desert that was of cheese cake with an oreo crust and wonderful rasberry topping to die for. I am a pro at eating out and honestly this is my first review. I would go back there anytime. PS the famouse soup was not as thick as I remember from five years ago, but stillvery good. Marko

Really Yummy Soup

This was the first time I had eaten at Scotch and Sirloin and I did so with my relatives who go there often. I was impressed with the good food and especially with the prime rib soup. Its unique and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes traditional chow.
