Very Tasty
Reviewer: Eric from Ventura, CA
Best Kobe Burger I've ever had. If you are into beer, very wide selection on tap. Great Service.

worth the drive for great steak!
Reviewer: Wendy from Bakersfield, CA
When temperatures in Bakersfield hit the 109+ range, after work my family & I make the 2-hour drive west to Ventura to get away from the stifling heat, if only for a few hours, and to feast on the most awesome tri-tip steak. Whether slathered with yummy sauteed mushrooms or served sliced in an entree salad, their tri-tip is always juicy & flavorful. I know their beer selection is great, but I always go for the pear cider on tap. My son loves the kids meals with the Oreo cookies at the end. The service is attentive & accomodating and there's always great tunes coming from the juke box inside.

Best Burger in Town
Reviewer: Chris Hennis from Ventura, CA
Winchester's has the best Hamburger I have had in a long time. As far as complete dinners go, my favorites are the pork chops or the Rib-Eye steak. And the steak salad is fabulous. But the best part about Winchester's is the waitresses. They are fast, curteous, and very knowledgeable. The only criticism I have is that they are not open for lunch.

Worth travelling 6 thousand miles for !!
Reviewer: Glyn Thomas from Newcastle-upon-Tyne England
My wife and I hit on this place around 8 years ago while travelling through California and have had to make it a must on every trip to the States since. As we live in the North East of England that makes it one hell of a round trip. The service is great, particularly the bar staff and the steaks are fabulous. The place has a great atmosphere and we have always been made to feel welcome. I cannot recommend Winchesters highly enough.

Great food

Stopped in Ventura with buddies on a motorcycle trip. Found the place by accident and boy were we lucky. Great Tri-Tip. Can't wait to get back there!

Food pretty good, service uneven
Reviewer: Kathy W. from Ventura, CA
The food is pretty good here, but this is NOT a place for vegetarians. There are no vegetables on the menu except for starches. The service is uneven, too: my friend's orders were switched, so one got the other person's meat with the sides she ordered. My medium-rare was cooked medium, more than I wanted. Because of the lack of healthy food, this place wouldn't be my first choice, but it is pleasant to sit outside.

It's Coo

It's a cool place to just kick it while drinking a Corona and eating some of those good cheese fries. Been there twice and both times i've had a good time.

Great place for late night eats and drinks!
Reviewer: TnT from Ventura, CA
So few places in Ventura are open late. I work late and love the fact that i can still go out on nights i'm working REALLY late. Winchesters has a fabulous sun dried tomato wrap, and outstanding cheese fries!! Great price and good service. Only regret is that i didn't get to try the desert.

undeniably good cheese fries
Reviewer: Chooch from Ventura, Ca
After reading the reviews we decided to take our three teenagers to Winchester's to celebrate our oldest son's admittance into MIT (Go MIT!). Our appetizer's were delicious, especially the cheese fries. They were a great combination of fries , lots of cheese, and their awesome bean recipe. The steak potato skins were really good, but way overpriced at $11 for five skins with a meager amount of tender steak on each skin. Everyone's dinner was cooked to perfection. The tri tip, ribeye, and pork chops were tender and juicy. The service was acceptable, nothing to brag about. But, for the price of our meal, $145, plus tip, I expect a little more attention to cleaniness of the table, checking back, etc. The outside bathroom was quite dirty, making me uncomfortable using the facilities. All-in-all, I would recommend Winchester's to anyone who can afford a night out with or without the family. Now, how to pay for that MIT education!!
