The Channel Islands
Visitor Center is located in Ventura Harbor and is a
wonderful launching point for the Islands. The
visitor's center offers some wonderful exhibits on the
flora and fauna of the island, a graphic relief map of
each of the islands and an observation tower that provides
an excellent view of the entire harbor.
The Islands, which you
can usually see from the tower, barring any marine layer,
of course. You can enjoy a number of activities on
the islands: SCUBA diving, snorkeling, swimming, bird
watching, kayaking, whale watching, and sailing. On the
islands, one may camp, hike, picnic, and explore tide
pools, isolated beaches, and rugged canyons. Park
naturalists conduct interpretive hikes on the islands
throughout the year.
Island
Packers is the official watergoing transportation
provider for the islands.
Channel
Islands Aviation is the official airgoing
