To get an idea of how the
wealthy settlers lived, be sure to visit this
Monterrey-style, two story adobe built by Don Raymundo
Olivas in 1847. Vignettes of each of the adobe's
rooms depict period furnishings the early California
rancho period.
This wonderful complex of
buildings include the main house, a smaller educational
building, a fountain, a grand courtyard and an herb
garden. Once the center of a 4,700 acre ranch, this
home is now the site of special events.
Directions:
Take the 101 to Telephone Road. Turn away from the
mountains. At Olivas Park Drive turn left. The adobe
will be on your left. |
